Lisa Anne Auerbach: United We Stand August 2011 – April 2012 This is a past residency Artist Lisa Anne Auerbach trained as a Hammer security guard to gain insight on the role of guards at the museum. She subsequently worked shifts in the galleries that informed her project, United We Stand. Libros Schmibros August 2011 – November 2011 This is a past residency David Kipen established Libros Schmibros in July 2010 with his collection of roughly seven thousand books in response to the lack of accessibility to books in his Boyle Heights community. Machine Project June 2009 – December 2010 This is a past residency From June to October 2009, Machine Project spent the summer researching for a yearlong series of artist-led interventions at the Hammer.
