Global Council
With inside access to L.A.’s cutting-edge art community, members of the Global Council belong to a vibrant network of Hammer ambassadors from across the United States and around the globe.
Global Council brings together philanthropists, established international collectors, and arts patrons who share an interest in furthering the mission of the Hammer Museum. This group provides essential support for presentations of international art and artists. These artists offer expansive points of view and ideas that have the power to shape the way we experience the world.
Global Council members draw on their expertise and networks as important cultural leaders, providing perspectives which broaden Hammer initiatives across the globe. They act as ambassadors helping bring the Hammer Museum to the widest possible international audience and recognize the Hammer’s importance as an international destination for contemporary art and culture.
This group offers an opportunity to connect through unique art experiences and to share ideas which are integral to sustaining and advancing the Hammer’s mission. Through thoughtful dialogue and collaboration, members provide valuable guidance that informs the museum’s global programming, fostering deeper connections and meaningful cultural exchange while celebrating its growing community.

Hammer Circle
Formed in 2011, Hammer Circle is an invitation-only group of collectors and arts champions. The goals for the group are twofold: to create a community of active and inspired collectors interested in emerging talent, and to build a solid foundation of support for the Hammer’s Made in L.A. exhibition series, a biennial which features artists working in Southern California.
With approximately 40 members, the Hammer Circle learns together about new art and artists locally and internationally, while also engaging with the fields of architecture, food, fashion, and design. Hammer curators along with the group’s co-chairs, Tracy O’Brien and Dee Kerrison, create exclusive and unique opportunities that include studio visits, conversations, and collection visits.

Hammer Collective
The Hammer Collective is an invitation-only group of young arts patrons brought together to support Hammer Projects, the Hammer’s long-running exhibition series dedicated to solo presentations of emerging and internationally-regarded artists.
This group provides critical annual support for Hammer Projects while bringing together the next generation of Los Angeles’s art collectors and patrons through unique programs and events. Collective members enjoy an enriched relationship to both the Hammer and the international contemporary art world through distinct opportunities to visit artists, engage with and learn from the Hammer curators, meet established collectors, and develop as important representatives for the museum in Los Angeles and abroad.
Together the Hammer Collective members will learn from the Hammer’s curators and each other about the many ways to support institutions and artists, and play a significant role in the growing cultural landscape of Los Angeles.
