Last Thursday we sat down with KCRW DJ Aaron Byrd before his opening set during Summer of Soul. In this interview, Aaron talks about our current Mark Bradford exhibition, the riots, and the intersection of music and art.

Eleven years ago Joseph Holtzman returned to painting after a hiatus of close to twenty-five years. This exhibition, which debuted at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive in October 2014, includes paintings dating from 2006 to 2011 and marks the first public display of the artist’s work.

Two major works from the Hammer’s permanent collection by Dutch artist Vincent van Gogh are currently on loan to the Clark Art Institute in Williamstown, MA, for their exhibition Van Gogh and Nature, on view until September 13, 2015.
