It's the last Friday of the month, so it's time once again for Hammergram! We are fascinated by the photos our visitors take of the objects and spaces at the Hammer. Hammergram is a monthly round-up of our favorite visitor photos in the hopes that it will inspire you to share your own Hammer experience with us.

Close Encounters: Make and Take a Seat was inspired by our Thomas Heatherwick exhibition, which included his studio’s innovative chair designs (think Spun Chair).

Following our decision to drop admission costs and become free for good, the Hammer Museum formed a new Visitor Experience (VE) department.

On June 16th, the Getty Research Institute opened its new exhibition, A Kingdom of Images: French Prints in the Age of Louis XIV, 1660-1715. An ornament print by Balthazar Moncornet, lent by the Grunwald Center for the Graphic Arts at the Hammer Museum, is among the treasures of 17th century print culture on display.

In the Winter and Spring quarters of 2015, the Hammer Museum partnered with UCLA’s Digital Humanities Program to offer a course about the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden. The course, taught by the Hammer’s Project Manager for Digital Initiatives Philip Leers, tasked students with researching the history and import of the Sculpture Garden and creating digital platforms to communicate that research. We asked the students to write blog posts describing their final projects and are proud to present the results of their hard work.
