About the Mohn Award
Funded by Los Angeles philanthropists and art collectors Jarl and Pamela Mohn, the Mohn Award has been given to artists with each edition of the Made in L.A. biennial, which began in 2012. The Mohn Award ($100,000) and the Career Achievement Award ($25,000) are selected by a professional jury, and the Public Recognition Award ($25,000) is determined through a public vote. All the artists in the exhibition are eligible to receive the awards.
The Jury
A jury of professional curators selected the Mohn Award and the Career Achievement Award. This year’s jury includes Gean Moreno, director of the Art + Research Center at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami; Margot Norton, chief curator at the Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive (BAMPFA); and Daniela Lieja Quintanar, chief curator and deputy director, programs, at the Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater (REDCAT).
