Cecilia Vicuña created photographic performances in which objects (a padlock, a razor blade) were placed between the legs of one of her women friends. In this work Vicuña placed a white net on her head, as if she were a piece of fruit, and tied her boyfriend with a black thread that seemed to strangle him. She wrote an accompanying text associating torment and birth: "I tied my boyfriend and wound myself in a net. Life and death are knotted in a thread/the hanged man's rope/and the umbilical cord." Photographed by Claudio Bertoni and Cecilia Vicuña.
