Japanese American artist Ron Miyashiro, like many of the Los Angeles assemblage artists, was influenced by Dada and the surrealist movement. In 1961 his work was featured alongside that of Larry Bell, Joe Goode, and Ed Bereal in War Babies, a seminal Los Angeles exhibition curated by Henry Hopkins at the Huysman Gallery.
