Close Encounters: A Pop-Up Mural
Ages 5 and up | FREE
In this drop-in, hands-on workshop designed for the whole family, Barbara Kruger’s enormous lobby mural Untitled (Hello/Goodbye) provides inspiration for a community mural. Participants contribute their own words or images that they associate with families—or appropriate the words and images of others, just like the artist!

Everyone’s got a mom—even smelly, snarly monsters! Moms bring out the best in their little beasts and help them become the most magnificent monsters. In this workshop, students get into the heads and hearts of monsters and then create Mother’s Day cards from a young monster’s point of view.
