This program, curated by UCLA AMIA Student Chapter, explores how reenactment exposes cinema’s inherent nature to simultaneously depict, reconstruct and reinterpret.

The only film written, directed, produced by and starring Eddie Murphy, Harlem Nights unites three generations of Black comedy—Redd Foxx, Richard Pryor and Murphy—in a story of Black nightlife, entrepreneurship and survival amid gangsters and corrupt cops.
