Good Drawing is No Accident, with Richard T. Walsh

  • to This is a past program

As part of his Breath(e) project, Grounded, Ron Finley hosts a series of workshops in his temporary garden at the Hammer Museum, led by local artists. Each workshop can accommodate up to 20 participants, with all materials provided by the instructors. Availability is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis, with a sign-up sheet available in the museum lobby starting one hour before the program.

Artist and designer Richard T. Walsh leads a workshop on drawing in the garden, teaching participants how to translate seeing into mark making. The workshop borrows its title from artist and educator Andrew Loomis, who said, "Good drawing is neither an accident nor an inspired moment when the muses lend a guiding hand!”
