Family Flicks: Ponyo

SUN FEB 12, 11 AM

Walking the beach of his small fishing village, a young boy frees a funny looking goldfish he finds trapped in a jar and takes it into his care. He soon discovers that Ponyo is no ordinary fish but the magical daughter of a sea wizard who longs to be a human girl. This enduring classic from Studio Ghibli, Ponyo blends childhood wonder, high adventure, and a compelling appeal for the environment. (2008, dir. Hayao Miyazaki, DCP, color, English-language version, 101 min.)

The Family Flicks Film Series is copresented by the UCLA Film & Television Archive. Matinee screenings for families and film buffs, featuring new and classic films from around the world.
