Art in Conversation

Scheduling note: there will be no Art in Conversation on September 4, 11, and 18.

30-minute talks about connections and comparisons between two works of art are led by Hammer student educators and take place every Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

Discover the many surprising and insightful connections visitors make between two works of art in the following blog posts written by student educators:

Movement and fluidity in Ruth Asawa’s sculpture and Merce Cunningham’s dance

Intimate connections with Catherine Opie’s photograph of designers and John Singer Sargent’s painting of a doctor

Reducing scenes to their basic essences in works by painter Emile Bernard and photographer Catherine Opie

Demonstrating that value is in the eye of the beholder with William Leavitt, Anni Albers, and Alexander Reed
