Transparent Cities

Transparent Cities, a new, site-specific work by Madison Brookshire, April Guthrie, Michael Pisaro and Cassia Streb combines audio and video recordings with live musical performance to create a study of light and sound in Los Angeles that explores the complex relationship between reality and recording. This collaboration is built on the ensemble Guthrie & Streb, a Los Angeles–based music ensemble committed to new and experimental works.

This performance is being produced as part of the Hammer Museum’s Artist Residency Program.

The Hammer Museum’s Artist Residency Program was initiated with funding from the Nimoy Foundation and is supported through a significant grant from the James Irvine Foundation.
