Members Celebrate Oliver Payne and Keiichi Tanaami

On Saturday, May 6, Hammer members celebrated the opening of Hammer Projects: Oliver Payne and Keiichi Tanaami with an artist conversation, cocktail reception, and t-shirt launch.

Oliver spoke with Hammer curator Aram Moshayedi and Swiss curators Fredi Fischli and Niels Olsen. We learned about the origins of the collaboration between Oliver and Keiichi, and what it was like for Oliver to collaborate with Keiichi, an artist he had long admired.

After the conversation, we celebrated with special whiskey cocktails crafted by our friends at Kikori Whiskey. The Hammer Store launched a limited edition, hand-signed t-shirt based on Payne and Tanaami’s collages in the exhibition, as well as the publication Perfect Cherry Blossom, published by Edition Patrick Frey. Contact the Hammer Store if you are interested in either item.
