How to Be a Dissident in an Age of Fear

Hammer Forum is made possible by the Rosenbloom Family

Fascism doesn't win because it's strong—it wins when people give up. Authoritarians count on their subjects feeling powerless. Pulitzer Prize winner Julia Angwin and former White House advisor Ami Fields-Meyer traveled the globe to find the students, workers, and everyday citizens who took on autocrats and won—and turned what they learned into a field guide. Their new book, On Courage: How to Be a Dissident in an Age of Fear, shows exactly how ordinary people can organize, resist, and defeat authoritarianism. Join the authors and journalist Jessica Yellin for a candid, galvanizing conversation. Featured on Rachel Maddow's podcast, who narrates the audiobook.
