In-Transition with the TransLatin@ Coalition

SAT AUG 20, 12–6 PM

This afternoon of programming with the TransLatin@ Coalition consists of celebratory workshops, games, and performances designed as an introduction into the daily life of a TransLatin@ activist. Visitors can participate in various activities and can also make protest signs as an offering to the coalition, whose signs are hanging in galleries as part of the Andrea Bowers exhibition.

This event is designed to create an atmosphere that promotes radical empathy and function as an activist artwork where the public can co-create, learn from, play with, and listen to the lives, creativity, and resilience of these incredible activists. Culminating in a poster-making celebration and with a smattering of performances, the event gives visitors a hands-on lesson about what it means to be an ally in the fight for trans and immigration rights.
