Family Flicks Film Series: Matilda

  • This is a past program

Recommended for ages 9+*

Based on Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s novel, Matilda tells the story of a remarkable girl born into a family of self-absorbed brutes, played by the deliciously campy Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, who fail to recognize the pint-size wonder in their midst. When she finds a kindred spirit in her teacher, they take on their tormentors in this charmingly offbeat—and slightly dark—fairy tale. (1996, dir. Danny DeVito, 35mm, color, 102 min.)

*All ages are welcome. Feel free to take a break with infants and toddlers in the theater lobby.
