Hammer Forum

The Global Underground Economy

  • This is a past program

The world is awash with off-the-books, criminal, kleptocratic, untaxed or dirty money that is laundered into the global financial system. James Henry, an economist, lawyer and investigative journalist, and the lead researcher for the Tax Justice Network, joins us to outline the global network of hidden money along with Zorka Milin, senior legal advisor at Global Witness and a visiting fellow at Yale University’s Global Justice Program, who investigates the sources and facilitators of money behind conflict, corruption, and environmental destruction.

Hammer Forum

This ongoing series of timely, thought-provoking events addresses current social and political issues.

Hammer Forum is moderated by Ian Masters, journalist, author, screenwriter, documentary filmmaker, and host of the radio programs Background Briefing, Sundays at 11AM, and The Daily Briefing, Monday through Thursday at 5PM, on KPFK 90.7 FM.
