Close Encounters: Dino Laboratory

  • to This is a past program

Dinosaurs have been extinct for millennia, but scientists are still discovering new species to this day. Explore the dinosaurs and sculptures by artist Francis Upritchard with artist Sean Chao and then create a dinosaur based on a scientific profile of your own invention. This workshop is developed in conjunction with Hammer Projects: Francis Upritchard.

Close Encounters

These lively drop-in programs encourage families to look closely at art, experiment, and create together. Developed with the whole family in mind, these encounters with art are designed for adults and kids ages 5 and up.

Hammer Kids is made possible through the generosity of the Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation.

Hammer Kids has also received funding from supporters and friends of the Hammer Museum’s Kids’ Art Museum Project (K.A.M.P.), an annual family fundraiser. Additional support has been provided by Resnick Foundation, The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, and the Art4Moore Fund of the Tides Foundation.
