826LA@Hammer: Self-Care for Kids

Professional speaker, trauma-informed trainer, performer, and writer Maia Akiva leads a workshop using creative writing exercises to get to know our emotional selves and address emotional challenges.

Recommended for ages 9–18

Hammer Kids is made possible through the generosity of the Anthony Pritzker Family Foundation, with additional funding from The Winnick Family Foundation. Hammer Kids also receives support from friends of the Hammer Museum's Kids' Art Museum Project (K.A.M.P.), an annual family fundraiser.

Ticketing: These free collaborative workshops, presented with 826LA, combine writing with creative activities for students ages 8-14. Reservations encouraged, spots limited. Visit 826la.org or call 310-915-0200. 
Parking: Under the museum, $9 flat rate on weekends. Cash or credit card.
