Part thriller, part romance, The Proposal follows the making of an artwork—featured in Stories of Almost Everyone—and the contested legacy of the famed Mexican architect Luis Barragán. The film documents artist Jill Magid as she develops her project, which explores the complex cast of characters—Barragán, his descendants, a mysterious Swiss corporation, and the Mexican government—behind the blue diamond at the heart of the work. (2018, dir. Jill Magid, 83 min.)

Followed by a Q&A with director Jill Magid.
