Fleetly directed by David Mackenzie, Hell or High Water follows brothers Tanner (Ben Foster) and Toby (Chris Pine) Howard as they crisscross West Texas robbing banks in an effort to save their family’s farm from foreclosure. Seasoned Texas Rangers Marcus Hamilton (Jeff Bridges) and Alberto Parker (a laconic Gil Birmingham) pursue the criminals in a decidedly Texan style that belies their dogged professionalism. Foster and Pine achieve real fraternal chemistry, but the film belongs to Bridges, who shines as a lawman trying to stiff-arm retirement for a few more days. Courtesy of CBS Films.
