Flux Screening Series

  • This is a past program

The Flux Screening Series at the Hammer presents innovative short films, music videos, filmmaker retrospectives, and the most interesting visual work from around the globe. Our April program features the world premiere of A Day at the Mall, a Motionpoem from filmmaker Ayse Altinok and poet Sarah Blake; the world premiere of Katina Mercadante’s Five; Daniel Gray & Tom Brown's animated short Teeth, fresh from its screenings at Sundance and SXSW (where it picked up a Jury Award); the never-before-seen "Movement edit" of Hoizer's "Work Song" by Isaac Ravishankara and the latest music videos from Peter J. Brant, Carlos Lopez Estrada, Kris Moyes and Keith Schofield featuring Joywave, Royal Blood, and Skrillex among others. Filmmaker presentations and a courtyard after-party will follow the screening.

All Hammer public programs are free and made possible by a major gift from the Dream Fund at UCLA.

Generous support is also provided by Susan Bay Nimoy and Leonard Nimoy, Good Works Foundation and Laura Donnelley, an anonymous donor, and all Hammer members.

The Hammer’s digital presentation of its public programs is made possible by the Billy and Audrey L. Wilder Foundation.
