Close Encounters: Portraits Gone Wild

  • to This is a past program

Paintings of people from long ago abound in the Armand Hammer Collection. Discover how still portraits can come alive through lenticular prints—images that appear to move when viewed at different angles. Strike a pose and snap a unique family photo with artist Todd Pleasants.

Close Encounters

These lively drop-in programs encourage families to look closely at art, experiment, and create together. Developed with the whole family in mind, these encounters with art are designed for adults and kids ages 5 and up.

Hammer Kids is made possible through the generosity of the Anthony & Jeanne Pritzker Family Foundation.

Hammer Kids has also received funding from supporters and friends of the Hammer Museum’s Kids’ Art Museum Project (K.A.M.P.), an annual family fundraiser. Additional support has been provided by Resnick Foundation, The Rosalinde and Arthur Gilbert Foundation, and the Art4Moore Fund of the Tides Foundation.
