The Phil Wright Trio

2:00PM

The Phil Wright Trio (piano, bass, and drums), led by Phil Wright on piano, will provide a musical history of the blues. Phil Wright has been the piano assistant to Ms. Barbara Morrison for the last three years in her private vocal classes at UCLA. Coming from New York to Los Angeles, he brought with him a wealth of musical experience. As a bandleader for renowned jazz great Nancy Wilson and a staff writer/arranger for Chess Records, he has helped develop such stars as Lou Rawls, Fontella Bass, and Little Milton.

Barbara Morrison, Jazz and Blues Vocalist

3:30PM

Barbara Morrison, joined by students and other special guests, shares her rich and unique interpretations of both familiar blues classics and original contemporary tunes.  The singers will be accompanied by the Phil Wright Trio.
