Black White + Gray (2007) examines the life of influential curator and collector, Sam Wagstaff (1921–1987), a veritable force in the art world for nearly three decades. The film reveals the symbiotic relationship Wagstaff shared with photographer Robert Mapplethorpe in New York during the heady years of the 1970s and 1980s.
