Beyond Blond Festival - ResponsAbility: The Planet

Tuesday May 8, 2007 7:00PM This is a past program
The Planet presents an international perspective on the consequences
of the massive shifts in geography and anthropology stemming from globalization. From Kenya to Brazil, Shanghai to Greenland, this documentary by directors Johan Soderberg, Michael Stenberg, and Linus Torell traces the effects local decisions are having on the worldwide ecosystem.
Beyond Blond is a month-long, city-wide celebration of Swedish Culture and industry. This year’s theme—ResponsAbility—addresses Sweden’s contributions to our understanding of the natural world, and explores the challenges inherent in reconciling the needs of a burgeoning human population with the growing global environmental crisis.

Sponsored by the Consulate General of Sweden in Los Angeles. For more information, please visit www.beyondblond.org.

Public programs are made possible, in part, by major gifts from the Annenberg Foundation and Mimi and Werner Wolfen. Additional support is provided by Laura Donnelley, Bronya and Andrew Galef, Erika Glazer, and an anonymous donor.
