It's the end of the month, so it's time once again for Hammergram! We are fascinated by the photos our visitors take of the objects and spaces at the Hammer. Hammergram is a monthly round-up of our favorite visitor photos in the hopes that it will inspire you to share your own Hammer experience with us.

An astute curator will place works in an exhibition to encourage such an interchange of emotion and ideas. Such exchanges seem particularly easy to observe in the intimacy of the Hammer Galleries, especially since so many of the works here come from France in the last thirty years of the 19th century.

Last April a family moved in to this no man’s land between a city highway along its service road and a park, and set up shop with a tent and 20+ beehives. A father, mother, and their little daughter have been living and working there since the spring and will be there for over half the year keeping their bees and selling their honey.

This October Camille Pissarro’s Boulevard Montmartre, Mardi Gras (1897) traveled to the ARoS Art Museum in Aarhus, Denmark for an exhibition entitled Monet – Lost in Translation. The exhibition focuses on Impressionist painting, and will include 60 works from collections around the world.

The Hammer Museum’s courtyard was transformed this evening for our 13th annual Gala in the Garden, honoring two extraordinary individuals—Diane Keaton and Paul McCarthy.
