Jayne Anne Phillips is the author of Lark and Termite, and three previous novels, MotherKind, Shelter, and Machine Dreams. Her two collections of widely anthologized stories include Fast Lanes and Black Tickets. She is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, and is currently professor of English and director of the MFA program at Rutgers-Newark, the State University of New Jersey.

This series of readings is organized by Mona Simpson, author of My Hollywood, Anywhere But Here, and Off Keck Road. Readings are followed by discussions with Simpson.
