Blur + Sharpen: Machinima Artistica

  • This is a past program
This program showcases artist-made machinima (literally, “machine made cinema”) created by artists using the 3-D world of online games and game engines. Works range from the haunting elegy Untitled (for David Gatten) by Phil Solomon and Mark Lapore, to critiques of violence, explorations of virtual being, and visions of intense, abstract beauty.

Blur + Sharpen is organized by Holly Willis, Steve Anderson, and Peter Oleksik.

ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE

Public programs are made possible, in part, by major gifts from the Annenberg Foundation, Ann and Jerry Moss, and Mimi and Werner Wolfen. Additional support is provided by Laura Donnelley, Bronya and Andrew Galef, Erika Glazer, an anonymous donor, and the Hammer Programs Committee.
