Lynda Benglis

  • This is a past program
Lynda Benglis is one of the most influential female artists of her generation. Her videos and sculptures address issues of identity, feminist theory, female sexuality, representation of women, and the role of the spectator. Her infamous 1974 advertisement in Artforum depicted the nude artist proudly showing off a giant strap-on dildo. Benglis is currently featured in Wack! Art and the Feminist Revolution at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles, and her work has been shown extensively in the US and abroad.
