The Middle East

Author and scholar Juan Cole has written extensively on modern Islamic movements in Egypt, the Persian Gulf, and South Asia. His most recent book is Sacred Space and Holy War. He is President of the Global Americana Institute and is a professor of modern Middle East and South Asian history in the History Department at the University of Michigan.
