Christopher Russell’s Hammer Project seamlessly fuses writing and object-making to create an all-encompassing environment that challenges the traditional divide between the two practices. Join the Los Angeles based artist and writer for a discussion on the conceptual, theoretical and aesthetic threads that run through his work. Following the talk, the artist will sign copies of his monograph, Landscape; a recent exhibition catalogue, Against the Grain; and the now-defunct zine Bedwetter in the Hammer Lobby. Russell’s Hammer Project is on view from January 13 through April 12, 2009.
