Hamlet in the Hammer Courtyard
Hamlet in the Hammer Courtyard
RAIN PLAN: Heaters and ponchos will be supplied. Dress for the weather. The show will go on through MIST or LIGHT DRIZZLE. Rainfall between 5pm and 10:30pm will unfortunately cancel the production. Complimentary hot coffee and tea will be served, and Cafe Hammer will be open throughout the performance offering food and beverages.
For 400 years and counting, Shakespeare’s Hamlet remains as contemporary as ever. This foundational work of Western culture, performed by UCLA’s professional actor training program, will be presented in two fully staged performances. Directed by Michael McLain of UCLA’s Theater program, with David S. Rodes, the Grunwald Center’s director emeritus, as dramaturge.
ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Seating is on a first come, first served basis. Hammer members receive priority seating, subject to availability. Reservations not accepted, RSVPs not required.
Parking is available under the museum for $3 after 6:00pm.
Public programs are made possible, in part, by a major gift from Ann and Jerry Moss. Additional support is provided by Bronya and Andrew Galef, Good Works Foundation and Laura Donnelley, an anonymous donor, the Hammer Programs Committee, and Susan and Leonard Nimoy.
