William Dalrymple’s study of the people and beliefs of India ranks with the very finest travel writing. — Observer

Scottish historian and travel writer William Dalrymple, author of Nine Lives: In Search of the Sacred in Modern India, explores where modern meets ancient in a transforming India, and the constant human pursuit of the divine. His other books include White Mughals, recipient of the Wolfson Prize for History and the Scottish Book of the Year Prize (2003), and The Last Mughal, awarded the Duff Cooper Memorial Prize for History and Biography. Dalrymple is a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature and of the Royal Asiatic Society, and is the founder and co-director of the Jaipur Literature Festival.

ALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Tickets are required, and are available at the Billy Wilder Theater Box Office one hour prior to start time. Limit one ticket per person on a first come, first served basis. Hammer members receive priority seating, subject to availability. Reservations not accepted, RSVPs not required.

Easy parking is available under the museum for $3 after 6:00.
