The Hammer’s collaborative writing workshop presented with 826LA is designed for groups of up to 20 students, ages 8–13. Reservations are encouraged and can be made by signing up at http://826la.org/workshops/ or by emailing julius@826.org by the Thursday prior to each workshop. Walk-ins welcome. Workshops are from 12 - 2pm unless otherwise noted. Admission is FREE.

A regular contributor to MAD and ESPN Magazine, he covers the nuts and bolts of newspaper, magazine, and autobiographical comic strips—from thought bubbles, word balloons, and character design, to the use of odd sound effects. Attention funny people and jokesters: Your writing skills are needed for the Five-Minute Sitcom Workshop. Learn how to make characters wacky enough for TV, then bring them to life by writing a short sitcom script!
