 an Glen Creason (Maps of Los Angeles) and artist J. Michael Walker (All th
 e Saints in the City of Angels)\, whose painted map of the city graces the
  western wall of Libros Schmibros at the Hammer.\n\n\n\nThe Hammer Museumâ
 €™s Public Engagement program seeks to create a new kind of interactive mu
 seum: an artist-driven visitor engagement program that encourages contact 
 among visitors\, artists\, and Museum staff\, and activates spaces in imag
 inative ways.\n\n\n\nPublic Engagement and AIR were established in 2009 th
 anks to a James Irvine Foundation Arts Innovation Fund grant. Via AIR\, ar
 tists examine and respond to fundamental museum issues related to the visi
 tor experience in an attempt to deepen the Hammer’s connection with its 
 guests.\n\n\n\nLibros Schmibros is a fiscally sponsored project of the Pas
 adena Arts Council’s EMERGE Program\n\n
