DESCRIPTION:Artist and writer David Robbins investigates the intersections 
 between art\, entertainment\, and comedy. As an artist he is best known fo
 r his work entitled Talent\, eighteen 'entertainer's headshots' of contemp
 orary artists including Cindy Sherman\, Jeff Koons\, Jenny Holzer\, and ot
 hers\, as well as The Ice Cream Social\, a project comprising installation
 s\, performances\, a novella\, and a Sundance Channel TV pilot. His books 
 include High Entertainment\, The Velvet Grind: Essays\, Interviews\, Satir
 es\, 1983–2005\, The Dr. Frankenstein Option\, The Camera Believes Every
 thing\, and a new book\, Concrete Comedy: An Alternative History of 20th-C
 entury Comedy. \n\n\n\nALL HAMMER PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Tickets are re
 quired\, and are available at the Billy Wilder Theater Box Office one hour
  prior to start time. Limit one ticket per person on a first come\, first 
 served basis. Hammer members receive priority seating\, subject to availab
 ility. Reservations not accepted\, RSVPs not required.\n\n\n\nParking is a
 vailable under the museum for $3 after 6:00pm.\n\n\n\nPublic programs are 
 made possible\, in part\, by a major gift from Ann and Jerry Moss. Additio
 nal support is provided by Bronya and Andrew Galef\, Good Works Foundation
  and Laura Donnelley\, an anonymous donor\, and the Hammer Programs Commit
