DESCRIPTION:Throughout the residency\, wild Up musicians will have the oppo
rtunity to explore their individual interests through a chamber music seri
es. This week clarinetist Brian Walsh brings his jazz trio to perform a s
et on the terrace.\n\n\n\nwild Up is a 24-member experimental classical/co
ntemporary ensemble comprised of Los Angeles musicians committed to creati
ng visceral\, thought-provoking happenings. By mixing traditional classica
l works\, challenging new compositions and indie music\, their insightful
programming looks to change the experience of the classical concert and re
conceptualize the role of an orchestra in its community. Throughout a perf
ormance wild Up creates an active experience for the audience by sharing t
he contextual and inspirational impetus for their program. The ensemble pr
actices a philosophy of radical-inclusionism: audience members are invited
to experience concerts the way that they see fit\, and absolutely no musi
c is off limits.\n\n\n\nWhen visiting the museum from July through Decembe
r visitors will encounter vibrant performances\, projects\, and interactiv
e installations. Stop by to find out what’s possible when an orchestra t
akes on a museum.\n\n\n\n Learn more about the residency.\n\n\n\nALL HAMME
R PUBLIC PROGRAMS ARE FREE. Seating is on a first come\, first served basi
 s. Hammer members receive priority seating\, subject to availability. Rese
rvations not accepted\, RSVPs not required. \n\n\n\nParking is available u
nder the museum for $3 for 3 hours. \n\n\n\nThe Hammer Museum’s Public E
ngagement program seeks to create a new kind of interactive museum: an art
ist-driven visitor engagement program that encourages contact among visito
rs\, artists\, and Museum staff\, and activates spaces in imaginative ways
. \n\n\n\nThe Hammer Museum’s Public Engagement Program is supported thr
ough a major grant from the James Irvine Foundation. Additional Support is
  provided by The Shifting Foundation.\n\n
